# Can I join AKUK if I have no accounting experience?

**Yes.** The programme explains each subject step by step and is designed to make practical accounting easier to understand.

You will begin with the foundations before moving into areas such as bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, Self Assessment, Corporation Tax and accounting-practice workflows.

 **Good to know:** You do not need previous employment in an accounting office. You should, however, be comfortable using a computer and be prepared to practise alongside the lessons.
